Norway has picked singer Alexander Rybak to represent the country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon with his song “That’s how you write a song”.
Born in Minsk, Belarus, Alexander started playing instruments from the age of five, and currently plays the violin and the piano. He studied at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo and his debut was at the Norwegian version of Pop Idol “Jakten på en superstjerne”.
In 2006 the young artist competed at the Kjempesjansen (“The great opportunity”) which he won.
Since then Rybak released 5 albums and more than 20 singles.
We already met Alexander when he won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 with his song “Fairytale”.
This year’s entry “That’s how you write a song” is an infectious pop track. The music video, directed by Frederick Asno, is also quite catchy with several things going on. Its main message is the need to follow the dream to achieve success and happiness.
Lyrics:
If you got a minute
Get down your idea
It might do wonders
Maybe disappear
Who knows? Just get it down
And nothing can go wrong
Go find your rhythm
That’s how you write a song
Enjoy the small things
With time they will get big
Gotta find your mission
A mission to pursue
You know you got a talent
Whatever it may be
So work your magic
And sing along with me
Step one: believe in it
And sing it all day long
Step two: just roll with it
That’s how you write a song
Sing shoobie doobie dat dat (shoobie doobie dat dat)
Shaba daba hey (shaba daba hey)
Say all day long (all day long)
And that’s how you write a song
I say skoobiedoobiedobuppa (skoobiedoobiedobuppa)
Boogie boogie woogie (boogie boogie woogie)
Say all day long (all day long)
See that’s how you write a song
Step one: believe in it
And sing it all day long
Step two: just roll with it
That’s how you write a song
Step one: believe in it
And sing it all day long
Step two: just roll with it
That’s how you write a song
Step one: believe in it
And sing it all day long
Step two: just roll with it
That’s how you write a song
Step one: believe in it
And sing it all day long
Step two: just roll with it
That’s how you write a song
Step one: believe in it
And sing it all day long
Step two: just roll with it
And that’s how you write a song
See that’s how you write a song
And that’s how you write a song
