Alice Jemima is a singer-songwriter/producer hailing from Devon, UK.
Inspired by poetic, emotionally-lead artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae and KT Tunstall, Alice broke out in 2012 with her first self-released EP — the four-track “All the boyfriends”.
New single is called “Electric”.
She describes the track as ‘being about positivity and the realisation that you can do amazing things, if only you can see yourself the way others do’.
“Electric” is taken from Alice’s eponymous debut album, due 3 March 2017 and boasts production from Roy Kerr (James Morrison, Richard Ashcroft, Birdy).
The song can be purchased on iTunes.
Lyrics:
Burn them cigarettes
and all those broken things
we have our regrets
and all them broken things.
The city don’t sleep
so how will be ever dream
out on the street
is all you can be
Don’t stop
you got
something real electric baby
hypnotized by what you got electric baby
we could light this dark dark city up
keep it electric baby
keep it electric
I’m feelin’ off
the reasons you can’t go on
the things that you see
will follow you home
burn them cigarettes
and all those broken things
we have our regrets
and all those broken things
Don’t stop
you got
something real electric baby
hypnotized by what you got, electric baby
we could light this dark, dark city up
keep it electric, baby
keep it electric
keep it electric, baby
keep it electric
don’t you ever let it go
keep it electric
