Charli XCX is back with a new song “Boys”. It’s the British singer’s second single from her untitled and forthcoming third studio album, which is expected sometime in 2018.
The music video, directed by XCX herself with Sarah McColgan, features a ton of musicians, actors, youtubers including Joe Jonas, Diplo, Charlie Puth, Dan Smith (Bastille), Jay Park, Mark Ronson, Will.i.am and Panic at the Disco’s Brendan Urie among others.
In an interview, Charli said: “’Boys’ is my favorite music video I’ve ever made… The guys are doing all the sexy things that girls usually do in music videos. I just wanted to flip the male gaze on its head.”
Her last studio album “Sucker” was released in 2014.
