For those who do not know, Darren Criss is co-founder of Elsie Fest, an one-day outdoor festival that celebrates stars and songs of the stage and screen.
Tony and Emmy nominee Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester in “Glee”), Riverdale’s Casey Cott and The Flash star Grant Gustin are among the guests.
To celebrate the event, Darren recorded a cover version of Carole King’s 1980 hit “One fine day”.
“‘One fine day’ has always been a favorite song of mine, and while the song doesn’t immediately make people think of musical theater, its shining presence in a hit Broadway show is a great example of what Elsie celebrates- the undeniable influence that pop culture and musical theater have always had on each other” he said.
Elsie Fest will take place on October 7 at Central Park SummerStage in New York. Tickets can be purchased here.

Lyrics:

One fine day
You’ll look at me
And you will know our love was meant to be
One fine day
You’re gonna want me for your girl

The arms I long for
Will open wide
And you’ll be proud to have me by your side
One fine day
You’re gonna want me for your girl

Now I know you’re the kind of a boy
Who only wants to mess around
Well I’ll keep waiting
Cause some day, darling
You’ll come to me when you want to settle down

Oh, one fine day
We’ll meet once more
And then you’ll want the love you threw away before
One fine day
You’re gonna want me for your girl

Now I know you’re the kind of guy who only wants to mess around
I’ll keep waiting
Cause someday darling
You will come to me when you want to settle down
Oh
One fine day
We’ll meet once more
And then you’ll want the love you threw away before
One fine day
You’re gonna want me for your girl
