After much teasing, Ed Sheeran has finally released the lead single from his upcoming album.
The track entitled “Bad habits” is an upbeat song co-written with Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid.
About it, the “Shape of you” hitmaker said: “The first single is really, really, really different. Every time I released my first single from the album, I was nervous because I didn’t know what would happen – and I like that feeling. I like the idea of announcing something”.
Sheeran also premiered the accompanying music video, directed by Dave Meyers, on YouTube.
The clip, recorded in Catford, South East London, sees our ginger boy wearing a pink suit with glittery black eyeliner and vampire-like teeth.
Ed will debut “Bad habits” live tonight at TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 show. Don’t miss it!
Lyrics:
Ooh
Every time you come around you know I can’t say no
Every time the sun goes down I let you take control
And tonight I had something wonderful
My bad habits sleep late at night sitting alone
Conversations with a stranger I barely know
Swearing this will be the last but it probably won’t
I got nothing left to lose, or use, or do
My bad habits lead to wide eyes staring at space
And I know I’ll lose control of the things that I say
Yeah, I…
Every time you come around you know I can’t say no
Every time the sun goes down I let you take control
And tonight I had something wonderful
Every time you come around you know I can’t say no
Every time the sun goes down I let you take control
And tonight I had something wonderful
