Romania chose its entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019: Ester Peony with “On a Sunday”.
Born in Câmpulung, Romania, Ester spent her childhood in Canada.
Influenced by Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Cher, she achieved popularity thanks her Youtube covers, which led to her signing with a Romanian record label.
In 2016, the single “Sub aripa ta” featuring Romanian hip-hop artist Vescan was a commercial success.
Last year, Ester released her debut EP “Dig it” and now she represents her country at Eurovision.
The track “On a Sunday” is an intriguing electro-pop song, which has a dark and sinister music video shot in an old abandoned mansion.
