Belarus has chosen Alekseev to represent them at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Alekseev was born in 1993 in Kiev city of Ukraine.
The singer-songwriter was first in the limelight when he became a semifinalist on the Ukrainian edition of the talent show The Voice.
His first single “Pyanoye solntse” stayed number one on the Russian Itunes chart for three weeks. It won numerous awards making him known in many Russian speaking countries.
After this success, other four singles were released.
On February 16, 2018 it was announced that Alekseev will represent Belarus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
The track “Forever”, written by Kyrylo Pavlov and Evhen Matyushenko, is a dynamic ballad that talks about the stronger emotion on earth which is the feeling of love.It was originally performed in Russian and there was a bit of controversy over whether it broke the rules or not.
Belarus debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and has made it to the final on four occasions.
Their best entry came in 2007 when Dmitry Koldun finished in sixth place with the song “Work your magic”.
