Fresh from releasing their third album, Hurts have unveiled their new video for ‘Wings’. Directed by Dawn Shadforth, who the band have previously worked with on clips for ‘Wonderful life’ and ‘Lights’, the band’s latest video offers up a hyper-stylised interpretation of their lives on the road. From drunken parties, to forlorn, exhausted glimpses, there’s more than just a hint of sad glamour to their new video, which seems to accompany the rise and fall of the track magnificently.
Lyrics:
When you find me free falling out of the sky And I’m spiraling out of control When I drop like a cannonball from Cloud 9 Just promise you won’t let me go
Say you’ll catch me when I fall Wrap your wings around my body When I’m lost in the storm And I’m calling
Wrap your wings around my body Wrap your wings around my body Wrap your wings, wrap your wings Wrap your wings around my body
When we stood on the skyline There was no turning back And you said not to stare at the ground There’s a hole in my parachute as big as your heart And the gravity’s pulling me down
Will you catch me when I fall? Wrap your wings around my body When I’m lost in the storm And I’m calling
Wrap your wings around my body Wrap your wings around my body Wrap your wings, wrap your wings Wrap your wings around my body
We’re flying above the valley below We’re flying above the valley below We’re flying above the valley below We’re flying above the valley below
Wrap your wings around my body Wrap your wings around my body Wrap your wings, wrap your wings Wrap your wings around my body
Wrap your wings, wrap your wings Wrap your wings around my body Wrap your wings around my body Come on and wrap your wings around my broken body Wrap your wings around my body Come on and wrap your wings around my broken body
