Some of you may remember Alex Arys as member of the vocal duo Taped Rai. Does David Guetta’s “Just one last time” ring a bell?
Many things have changed since then.
It was 2012. After this success, Alex and Tom Liljegren released another two singles: “Shadow of the sun”, their biggest hit to date and “Backyard animals” before to switched their name to Max Elto.
The project allowed them to explore new sounds as they released debut EP “Taped Rai”.
Max Elto is currently on hiatus so Alex can concentrate on his solo career.
In this interview, he talked about the new single “Can you feel it” and other interesting stuff.
Could you introduce yourself?
I’m a Swedish artist living in Berlin
Tell us about your new single “Can you feel it”
The song is about determination and believing in yourself but also coming to terms with the fact that the path you’ve chosen will most likely be filled with a lot of struggle and still learn to love that. I want the song to inspire people and cheer them on when the going gets tough. The phrase ”can you feel it” is in reference to that moment when you’ve almost reached your goal but you gotta hang in there just a little while longer.
Are there any artists that you draw inspiration from?
So many, but I usually like to watch videos of legends like Freddie Mercury, Bowie and Dolly Parton when I wanna be inspired.
You previously worked with David Guetta on the track “Just one last time”. What memories does it bring up?
It brings up really fond memories, it was such a whirlwind that whole experience but i still feel so lucky and blessed to have gone thru it.
Are you still keeping in touch with Tom Liljegren?
Of course! Max Elto was a really special time in my life and we both learned a lot from it. We make sure to catch up every now and again.
If you could’ve done anything in your career differently, what would you have done?
I don’t believe in that line of thinking, I believe everything happens for a reason – as corny as that sounds, but I really do think that every experience in your life leads you to the next and its all part of your journey.
What is up next for you?
Its simple, just more of everything
