Flynn is an Irish singer and songwriter from Mullingar, a small town situated in the central Co. Westmeath, Ireland. His latest single “One of us” is a powerful alt-pop song where the young artist shows off his stunning vocals. Check out the interview below.

Hi Flynn! Thanks for chatting to us. First up, how’s it going?

Yeah, good thanks, been a crazy weekend – It feels like I’ve been writing forever, so its so amazing to finally be putting music out!

Let’s talk about music. What inspired your most recent single “One of us”?

One of Us is about family, friends and reconnecting with home. It’s about a time when I was living away from home and I kinda lost myself for a bit, I guess I missed that feeling of spending time with people that really knew me, the kind of friends you can pick up where you left off no matter how long it’s been. It was really great to get my feelings down on paper that day.

Niall Horan suggested “One of us” on his Instagram. What do you think about it?

I went to school with Niall, it was really cool of him to mention me and One Of Us in his story, he sent me a message saying how much he loved the song. I literally have his Album on repeat these days, so good!

What has it been like to collab with Lost Frequencies?

I loved releasing “Recognise” with Lost Frequencies – I went on a few tour dates with Felix last year, including Tomorrowland and Parookaville, it was amazing sharing the stage with him and the band in front of 35,000 people. I’m loving his new tune “Love To Go”.

Who are you listening to at the moment? Do you have any suggestions?

Yeah quite a few actually! I’m loving Jessie Reyez right now, she’s super fresh. I think Julia Michaels is great too, she is probably one of the most exciting songwriters around right now.
I’m also a big fan of FINNEAS. I love his sound and his overall aesthetic is really cool and minimalist. His productions are incredible too! He’s just great.

What else can we expect from you this year?

More music, I’ve been writing for the last 6-12 months so can’t wait to share it all. We went out to LA at the end of the summer and I’ve also been writing in the UK in London, Brighton and Hastings
( 2 seaside towns on the south coast – inspiring places to write)

Thank you for taking the time to chat with us! Is there anything else you’d like to add?

… Just that I can’t wait to release more new music – I’m just super excited for that – and actually I’m writing even more new songs as well by myself in lockdown – so trying to make good use of my time ready for hopefully loads of festivals and gigs in 2021
