Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685’s “Savage love” is spending a third week at the top of the UK Official Singles Chart.
The track, co-written with Phil Greiss and Jacob Kasher, has become an international hit thanks to Jawsh 685, a South Auckland 17-year-old creator of the catchy Laxed – Siren Beat.
The instrumental song, posted on YouTube last year, found viral success arounsing the interest of the American R&B star.
“Savage love” marked Derulo’s fifth UK number one single after “In my head”, “Don’t wanna go home”, “Talk dirty” and “Want to want me”.
For Jawsh 685 it is a number one debut single. About it, the New Zealand producer said: “Being a youngin from South Auckland hitting the charts heavy to the point where we hit Number 1! Honestly it is just the biggest blessing I could have ever received, seeing it happen to not only me but for my family and friends!
