After a complicated legal battle with her former manager Dr. Luke, Kesha is back with a new single “Praying”.
The heartfelt ballad, written by Ryan Lewis and Ben Abraham, is the first single from “Rainbow”, which is set to be released on August 11.
The new album will be Kesha’s first new studio release in five years and will include collaborations with rock band Eagles of Death Metal and country queen Dolly Parton, who will guest star on a cover of her 1980 hit “Old flames can’t hold a candle to you.”
The music video for “Praying” was directed by Jonas Åkerlund (Madonna, Lady Gaga, Coldplay), and filmed in part at Salvation Mountain in California.
It opens with the American singer laying on a raft in the middle of an ocean, seemingly dead, surrounded by pig-men.
During the clip, she appears to cry blood tears, to pray and, in the end, she walks on water.
