The Kills are an indie rock duo formed by American singer Alison Mosshart and British guitarist Jamie Hince.
After a long break due to Hince’s five hand surgeries, the band are back with their fifth record “Ash & ice”.
First single is “Doing it to death”.
The video, directed by Wendy Morgan, see the band at the center of a fashionable, heavily choreographed funeral procession. Mosshart later appears singing from a church pulpit, blithely smoking a cigarette and covered in tired indifference.
The album “Ash & ice”, out next June, was recorded in a rented house in Los Angeles and at the Electric Lady Studios in New York City and it was co-produced by guitarist Hince with John O’Mahony and Tom Elmhirst.
Lyrics:
Baby save it, we’re wasted
I know we gotta slow it down
But when the waves come, you face them
And you know we can’t stop it now
Heads up we’re in a dead club
Put your hands up and do your dipsy and dropsy
And line up, we’re hanging up
We’re double sixing it, night after night
Doing it to death
Baby lately the plans we’re making
Are the shape of things that never come
Hold your horses, the lights up
Can’t feel it coming back around
Listen up, it’s picking up
Put your hands up and do your kicksy and lipsy
Your times up, we’re hanging up
We’re double sixing it, night cause tonight
We’re doing it to death
We’re double sixing it night after night after night [x3]
Doing it to death
