Kristian Kostov is Bulgaria’s choice for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest.
The 17-year-old singer is the youngest contestant to perform in Eurovision this year.
He was born on 15th March, 2000 in Moscow, Russia. Last year Kostov took part in Bulgaria’s fourth season of X Factor. He came second singing with Vassil Naydenov, a popular Bulgarian singer.
On 7 October 2016 his debut single “Ne si za men” topped the Bulgarian charts and was followed by an English version “You got me girl”.
His entry song “Beautiful mess” was written and composed by Borislav Milanov, Sebastian Arman, Joacim Persson (the trio behind the 2016 Bulgarian Eurovision entry “If love was a crime”), Alexander V. Blay and Alex Omar. It tells a love story in an unusual way – instead singing about the romantic sense of love, Kostov focusses on the part of friendship and loyalty of love.
Lyrics:
When the world shakes us
Trying to take us out of line
Fear of tomorrow
Feelings we borrow for a time
Water so deep, how do we breathe?
How do we climb?
So we stay in this mess
This beautiful mess tonight
And we don’t have a thing to lose
No matter what they say or do
I don’t want nothing more
Our love is untouchable
Even in the line of fire
When everything is on the wire
Even up against the wall
Our love is untouchable
Our love is untouchable
When the colours turn grey
And the lights all fade to black again
We’re in over our heads
But somehow we make it back again
Water so deep, how do we breathe?
How do we climb?
So we stay in this mess
This beautiful mess tonight
And we don’t have a thing to lose
No matter what they say or do
I don’t want nothing more
Our love is untouchable
Even in the line of fire
When everything is on the wire
Even up against the wall
Our love is untouchable
Even in the line of fire
When everything is on the wire
Even up against the wall
Our love is untouchable
