Linkin Park team up with American rising alt-pop star Kiiara for new single “Heavy”.
The track, written by the band themselves with Kiara Saulters, Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, is a ballad about drug addiction.
Last week Mike Shinoda & co. performed the song on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Now there’s a music video.
Directed by Tim Mattia (Coldplay, Muse, Arctic Monkeys), the clip finds frontman Chester Bennington and Kiiara grappling with their demons, who look just like them.
About the video, Chester said: “What’s funny is, like, this song is, like, not a heavy song, but I destroyed more stuff making this [clip] than, like, any other song. It was more violent and more intense making this video than any other video. Like, I got into like fistfights with myself, fistfights with other people, breaking a bunch of stuff. I got to take a lamp and throw it through a television set. Like, I’ve wrecked so much stuff, it was awesome.”
“Heavy” is the first single from Linkin Park’s seventh studio album “One more light”, which will be released on May 19.
