Fresh off the release of her second EP “Moral of the story: chapter 1”, American indie-pop singer and songwriter Ashe caught our attention with the single “Bachelorette”.
The powerful song, produced by Finneas & Doug Schadt, is a sublime piece of pop that showcases the artist’ vocals skills. An intensive, magical voice.
Finneas, the producer of the track, is also a famous musician and actor, recently known for collaborating on Billie Eilish music.
Commenting on the single, Ashe says: “It’s a lot like tearing your own heart out when you’re forced to be the one who ends your relationship – when you know it’s over and are put in the position of asking the other person to stay. ‘Bachelorette’ was my way of venting, frustrated to be the brave one when the other person was the problem.”
Lyrics:
I wish I had the right words to say
Cause I don’t wanna be alone
I’ll never have the right words to say
Cause I won’t tell you stay or go
This is a lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose
And I’m gonna lose, lose, lose, lose, lose you
Why do I have to ask you
Why do I have to at all (at all)
Don’t force my hand to be the bad guy when
Either way we’re gonna lose
So why do I have to ask you at all
My stomach’s turning in the in between
Why’s it so hard to make your mind up
It’s not fair if you leave it up to me
I can’t be the one to decide for us
This is a lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose
And I’m gonna lose, lose, lose, lose, lose you
Why do I have to ask you
Why do I have to at all (at all)
Don’t force my hand to be the bad guy when
Either way we’re gonna lose
So why do I have to ask you at all
If I lose you this way then I never had it
If I have to explain then you’ll never get it
If you leave anyway then you never meant it
If I lose you this way then I never had it
If I have to explain then you’ll never get it
If you leave anyway then you never meant it
Why do I have to ask you
Why do I have to at all (at all)
Don’t force my hand to be the bad guy when
Either way we’re gonna lose
So why do I have to ask you at all
