Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton and Chester Bennington‘s collaboration “Cross off” has arrived.
The track was first teased in April 2017 just three months before the former Linkin Park frontman tragically took his life. It was written by Morton, Bennington, Jake Oni and producer Josh Wilbur, and features Trivium members Paolo Gregoletto and Alex Bent on bass and drums, respectively.
About the collaboration with Chester, Mark said: “I was really impressed for a guy at his level, at the place in the career he was at, someone of his stature and celebrity, to have that level of humility and commitment to come in there and treat this like it would be a Linkin Park song, or his own song or whatever…After the track was laid out, then we took a breath and started talking about more personal stuff – real-life shit. And yeah … he surprised me the most.”
“Cross off” is taken from Morton’s debut solo album “Anestethic”. It’s due March 1 and features collaborations with Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, Myles Kennedy, Papa Roach vocalist Jacoby Shaddix and more.
