Louis Tomlinson releases heartbreaking ballad “Two of us” dedicated to his late mother
Louis Tomlinson released a new song, called “Two of us” in honour of his late mother Johanna Deakin, who sadly died in 2016 after battling leukaemia. In the song, written by Louis with Bryn Christopher, Andrew Jackson and Duck Blackwell, Tomlinson sings: “I will keep you, day and night, here until the day I die. I’ll be living one life for the two of us. I will be the best of me, always keep you next to me. I’ll be living one life for the two of us”. “She would have loved it, she was a fan of ballads” the former One Direction member said. “I knew I needed to write this song, but I was a bit scared of it. … It was something I needed to get off my chest. I used to lean on my mum for a lot of things – anytime I needed advice on something she would be the first call I made. … I’m not at the stage in my grief where I’m going to open the first verse and burst into tears … I don’t want people to get caught up in the sadness of it, the song should be hopeful” he continued. “Two of us” is the first release on Arista Records for Louis and follows the singles “Back to you“, a collaboration with Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals, and “Miss you”. A music video, shot at the Hunslet Club, in Leeds is coming soon. As regards, the album we should wait until the year ends.
