New Madonna music is finally here! After a series of cryptic teasers, the legendary pop star released her first single from the project, titled “Medellin”.
The track is a collaboration with Colombian superstar Maluma and it’s taken from her long-awaited and highly anticipated 14th studio album “Madame X”.
“Medellin”, formerly known as the home base of narcoterrorist Pablo Escobar but today a peaceful metropolis, is also the Colombian city where Maluma was born.
About this collaboration, the 25-year-old artist said: “She’s one of my biggest inspirations and for me, it’s such a pleasure that I can call her my friend”. The pair first met at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards.
The accompanying music video was directed by Diana Kunst, who also worked with James Blake on “Barefoot in the park” and A$AP Rocky on “Fukk sleep”.
Madonna’s new album “Madame X” sees the 60-year-old songstress reunited with French record producer and songwriter Mirwais Ahmadzai, with whom she collaborated on her “Music”, “American life” and “Confessions on a dancefloor” albums, and Mike Dean (“Rebel heart”).
