After a lenghty hiatus, R&B singer Mario returns with a new single “I need more”.
The track, written by Allen Ritter, Terrence De Carlo Coles & Mario himself, premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show last May.
“I need more” is taken from singer’s first album in seven years “Paradise cove”. The LP marks a new stage in Mario’s career.
“I found myself having to face my own darkness in order to step into the next phase of my purpose,” he said. “It inspired certain sounds and textures that you wouldn’t get from a label-produced Mario album.
“We were able to create a concept, lyrically and sonically, that expresses exactly what I was feeling: the void,” he continued. “Even in the midst of manifesting our wildest desires and material gains, it still ain’t enough. You need more: truth, love, happiness, freedom.”
