Here at All Around New Music, we’re all for new music and discovering new artists. This time around, we are taking a look at Next To Neon and his brand new single “Fashion”.
Next To Neon is a musical project of Swedish artist Rasmus Viberg.
Active from ten years, the 28 year-old singer-songwriter and record producer has been in several bands during his music career such as Dinner For Dinosaurs, Hurricane Love and Moment.
Recently, he decided to go solo launching Next To Neon.
Influenced by David Bowie and Prince, Next To Neon released his first single “Looking at you” last March.
Now it’s the turn of “Fashion”, a slick and sexy synth pop track that sounds like the 80s.
On the song, he explains: “It’s about out drive to always be hip and hang with the cool kids, visit the coolest bars etc. Something I’ve experienced a lot”.
“Fashion” will be part of an EP, which is set to be release sometime in the end of this year.

Lyrics:

We’re stuck in a reality of shapes
We’re too fashion to notice
You use the street like a catwalk every day
We’re to fashion to notice

Waiting for the weekend waiting for the weekend
To get into a new trend, using all your high end

Fashion, to hip to be lonely
Fashion, the one and only
Hanging in the coolest bars
Coz baby your superstar
But Fashion, has made you boring

We’re stuck in a illusion can’t you see
I guess we’re to fashion to notice
Livin’, in a superficial, fake reality!
But we’re to fashion to notice

Waiting for the weekend waiting for the weekend
To get into a new trend, wearing all the right brands

Fashion, to hip to be lonely
Fashion, the one and only
Hanging in the coolest bars
Coz baby your superstar
But Fashion, has made you boring

Pretend you’re having fun
While I get the fuck out this place, oh
(Cause) If I’m gonna do me
Then who needs fashion anyway?!
x2

Fashion, to hip to be lonely
Fashion, the one and only
Hanging in the coolest bars
Coz baby your superstar
But Fashion, has made you boring
