Australian singer and songwriter Ricki-Lee is back on the music scene after a three-year hiatus with a new single.
The track, entitled “Not too late”, is a soft ballad far removed from the dance beats of previous songs.
Co-written with Neil Ormandy and Steve Soloma, the team behind James Arthur’s global hit “Say you won’t let go”, the song touches on themes of love, hope and hurt.
Speaking of the new single, the former Idol contestant said: “It’s a song that has caught everybody off guard, it’s not what anybody expects from me and most of all it makes people feel something.”
The clip, directed by Morgan Christie (Something For Kate, Midnight Oil), was shot in a warehouse in Marrickville, in Sydney’s inner south-west and features the singer serving the track up raw, with just her band as accompaniment.
