Saara Aalto will represent Finland in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
Saara was born on 2 May 1987 in Oulunsalo. Growing up in Finland, she started her music career taking part in various reality singing competition (“Talent suomi” in 2007, “The voice of Finland” in 2012 and “X Factor UK” one year later).
In 2011, her debut album “Blessed with love” was released. The lp, composed by herself, found an unexpected success in China.
Her Eurovision entry “Monsters” is a big uptempo number written by Saara herself with Joy Deb, Linnea Deb and Ki Fitzgerald.
“This song tells about how you live and experience traumas and negative things” explained the singer-songwriter. “That leaves small monsters in your head. They frighten you and stop you from making choices. In this song we get rid of them”.
Saara has attempted to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest twice. Her first attempt was in 2011 with “Blessed with love” where she came second in the Finnish national final show. In 2016, she starred once again in the national final performing, once again self-penned song “No fear”.
