Finnish Eurovision and X Factor UK star Saara Aalto gifted fans last Friday with “Starry skies”, the first single off her forthcoming international EP “Fairytale”.
The romantic and atmospheric ballad, co-written alongside David Sneddon and produced by Pete Hammerton (Måns Zelmerlöw, Rebecca Ferguson, MØ), talks about a romance in a cold winter night.
“I feel like it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever written” said Saara. “So personal. About your first love. When it’s too cold to stay outside but you’re still there waiting for your first kiss”.
In other news, the multilingual singer/songwriter recently lent her voice in the Finnish version of Disney’s film “Frozen 2”.

Lyrics:

Cold, but I’m in my grandma’s coat
It’s late, and I know we should go home
But there’s more to this, ’cause
We’re too scared to kiss

Again, it’s like -28
Freezing on my street while we wait
For our fireworks to start
Then you explode in my heart

I don’t wanna leave here till the sunrise
Underneath a billion starry skies
And I still remember you and me together
On the night that we got started underneath those
Starry skies

I think it was midnight, New Year’s Eve
You wore your heart out on your sleeve
Jumped in, no fear, no doubt
Weird how some things don’t work out

I don’t wanna leave here till the sunrise
Underneath a billion starry skies
And I still remember you and me together
On the night that we got started underneath those
Starry skies

There is nothing sad about us
Loving you still gave me so much
And I’ll always have you, the sky
And the stars

I don’t wanna leave here till the sunrise
Underneath a billion starry skies
And I still remember you and me together
On the night that we got started underneath those
And I still remember you and me together
On the night that we got started underneath those
Starry skies
