British rock band Skunk Anansie have released the second single from their sixth studio album “Anarchytecture“. The song “Death to the lovers” is a deep emotional track. “‘Death to the lovers’ is about the loss of intimacy in a relationship” explained lead singer, Skin “that grey area between love and hate you fall into just before it’s truly over. There is desperation, there is the realisation that it can’t last, but there’s still hope. Musically, it’s another electronic experiment from us, something fresh and contemporary, but very Skunk”.
Lyrics:
With my heart in your hands I will suffer, suffer ’till the bitter end, yeah With my heart in your hands I feel trouble, trouble, smother who I am, oh oh
Water rush in, spirit moving Darkness comes, I feel magnificent
Sinking in, the love has failed The world goes crashing down to hell I try, I try I’m breathing in, I’m choking out All sentiment has faded out Just died, died
I see death for the lovers
With my heart in your hand I will stagger, stumble, shatter ’till I’m gone, yeah With my heart in your hands I speak my destruction to give you what you want, yeah
Water rush in, spirit moving Darkness comes, I feel magnificent
I’m sinking in, the love has failed The world goes crashing down to hell I try, I try I’m breathing in, I’m choking out All sentiment has faded out Just died, died
There were days when we were sparkles in the air We were losing gold to souls without a care Now the photographs go crashing to the ground
I’m sinking in, the love has failed The world goes crashing down to hell I try, I try I’m breathing in, I’m choking out All sentiment has faded out Just died, died
There were days when we’ve been sparkles in the air Now the songs are all or nothing solitaire
I’m breathing in, I’m choking out All sentiment has faded out Just died, died
