This year Germany brings on stage a little bit of girl power with S!sters and their song “Sister”.
Formed specifically for the contest, the pop duo comprised of Laurita Spinelli and Carlotta Truman.
Laurita comes from Königsau, a small town in Rhineland-Palatinate and now lives in Wiesbaden. Her parents are professional musicians – the mother is a singer and the father is a very famous piano player. Her childhood and youth were strongly influenced by music and in 2002 she won ZDF’s Kiddy Contest at the age of ten. Currently, Spinelli is a background singer for Eurovision winner Lena and also for other German singers. She’s recording songs for her first solo album too!
Carlotta is from Hannover and began to sing when she was 8 year old in the children’s choire of her mother. At 11, she won German Rock and Pop Award for the Best Singer becoming the youngest person to be awarded. Last year, Carlotta performed live in Willkommen 2018 together with Alex Christensen and the Berlin Orchestra from the Brandenburg Gate on ZDF.
“Sister” is a beautiful ballad about choosing to celebrate each other’s power rather than competing with one another.
