Stef Lang is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer who resides in New York City. Her new song is called “Burn it to the ground” and it’s the first single off of her EP “Arrows“. Lang says the song is about “rising above the conflict, being empowered by who you are and allowing the experience to change you for the better. It takes time to grow and it takes time to change and I was inspired to reflect that in this song. Writing this song was also my way to forgiveness, freeing myself from negative energy.” “Arrows” will be released later this year.
Lyrics:
You had me called out Knocked my lights out I used to be so jaded
But I got wise now 1, 2, 3, rounds Way too long I waited I’ve been gunning, gunning, gunning aw gee Running, running, running on E It took a little time to re-e-e-e-set
I ain’t gonna give up any part of me It don’t feel right I wanted just to keep it all in one piece Is that alright? So every little word you say to break my style I’ll burn it to the ground Burn it to the ground
I said fuck it, fight it, let it all go Your words don’t mean nothing at all It took a little time but I’m feeling alright ‘Cause I’m the boss now
Working for me Only have to answer to me It’s just a matter of time ‘Till you-oo-oo-oo-oo see that
I ain’t gonna give up any part of me It don’t feel right I wanted just to keep it all in one piece Is that alright? So every little word you say to break my style I’ll burn it to the ground Burn it to the ground Burn it to the ground
I ain’t gonna give up any part of me It don’t feel right I wanted just to keep it all in one piece Is that alright? So every little word you say to break my style I’ll burn it to the ground I’ll burn it to the ground Burn it to the ground Burn it to the ground Burn it to the ground
