Darren Criss and Steve Aoki together for an unexpected collaboration. The track called “Crash into me” is a EDM version of Dave Matthews Band’s hit.
The song was originally released in 1996 as the third single from the band’s acclaimed second album “Crash”.
Aoki and Criss’ version is fun and nostalgic at the same time. So 90s in a few words.
About it, The American Crime Story and Glee star said: “I’m a ’90s kid. I grew up loving that music. And I’ve played in tons of ’90s cover bands, and I can play them all. So when EDM was becoming more popular in the States, I can remember thinking, ‘Man, if I was an EDM DJ, I would love to just take Dave Matthews’ seminal “Crash into me” and turn it from a six-minute unconventional ballad with chimes and odd bars and things that are pretty counterintuitive to what a normal song would be, and I would put it into a box of 2019 club bangers.’ Which is what we did.”
In addition to the new single release, Darren has just announced he will executive produce, star in and write songs for “Royalties”, a musical comedy series for the short-form video service Quibi.
Lyrics:
You’ve got your ball, you got your chain
Tied to me tight, tie me up again
Who’s got their claws in you my friend?
Into your heart I’ll beat again
Sweet like candy to my soul
Sweet you rock, and sweet you roll
Lost for you, I’m so lost, for you
Oh, you come crash into me, yeah
Baby, and I come into you
And I come into you
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash, crash into me
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash, crash into me
Touch your lips just so I know
In your eyes, love, it glows so
I’m bare boned, and crazy for you
If I’ve gone overboard
Then I’m begging you
To forgive me for my haste
When I’m holding you so girl
Close to me
And you come
Crash into me, yeah
Baby, and I come into you
In a boy’s dream
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash, crash into me
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash, crash into me
I’m king of the castle
You’re my dirty rascal
Crash into me
Crash into me
I’m king of the castle
You’re my dirty rascal
Crash into me
Crash into me
Oh, I watch you there
Through the window
And I stare at you
You wear nothing but you
Wear it so well
Tied up and twisted
The way I’d like to be
For you, for me, come crash
Into me
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash, crash into me
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash, crash into me
Crash into me
Crash into me
Crash, crash into me
