Suede release their brand new album “Night thoughts” on January 22nd and today reveal the first new track, “Outsiders”. The LP, which will feature a full string section, was produced by the band’s long-time collaborator Ed Buller and was recorded in London and Brussels. Frontman Brett Anderson said of the album, “We wanted to make the kind of album you’re not supposed to make in 2015. The kind you listen to in order and all the way to the end. “Night thoughts” is about those moments when you wake at 4am with the walls of your life caving in. It’s an album about fear and love and loss”.
“Night thoughts” tracklist: “When you are young” “Outsiders” “No tomorrow” “Pale snow” “I don’t know how to reach you” “What I’m trying to tell you” “Tightrope” “Learning to be” “Like kids” “I can’t give her what she wants” “When you were young” “The fur & the feathers”
Lyrics:
By the roadside shrine there’s a place Selling bouquets of cellophane That’s where they meet in this desolate place And the more they see the more they say Thrown like two winter roses into a broken vase
They’re playing the hand they play Caught in the game they made
She puts her faith in the moment Outsiders He puts his faith in the moment Outsiders
And his clothes are covered in dew As she writhes in twisted sheets Feel the pulse and the power of you And what you see isn’t what’s underneath
They’re playing the hand they play Caught in the game they made
She puts her faith in the moment Outsiders He puts his faith in the moment Outsiders
