Georgia has chosen the singer, songwriter and actress Tamara (Tako) Gachechiladze to represent her country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
She was a member of the group Stephane & 3G, who won the 2009 Georgian final with their anti Putin song “We don’t wanna put in”.
Tomorrow Tamara will sing “Keep the faith”, a powerful ballad written by Tako herself with Anri Jokhadze of “I’m a joker” (Georgia’s song in 2012).
The track marks the 9th participation of Georgia at Eurovision, which has started a streak of grand final qualifications with Nina Sublatti in 2015 and Nika Kocharov & The Young Georgian Lolitas in 2016.
“Keep the faith” has a music video directed by Temur Kvirkvelia.
Lyrics:
Who told you to hide behind the veil
Who told you to get out of the way
Don’t you let them steal your dreams
Feel the courage, spread your wings and breathe
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Remember you are not alone
Hold my hand and come along
You keep the faith
Keep the faith
Don’t let nobody turn you down
Even if the world is rough
Who told you that I reached that point of no regrets?
Who told you that my life is a book of fairytales?
I have lost many times
But I’ve never lost my hope
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Remember you are not alone
Hold my hand and come along
You keep the faith
Keep the faith
Don’t let nobody turn you down
Even if the world is rough
Oh, oh, oh!
You’ve got to stand on your own
Crowd hear me out
The world needs more love!
Keep the faith
Keep the faith
Remember you are not alone
Hold my hand and come along
You keep the faith
Keep the faith
Don’t let nobody turn you down
Even if the world is rough
Keep the faith
