Tamta is Cyprus’ choice for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.
Born as Tamta Goduaze in 1981 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the pop dance singer rose to fame in 2004 when she participated in the Greek version of Super Idol where she placed 2nd. After the show, the young artist achieved a great success and became a well-known name in the Greek music industry.
Her first solo album was released a few years later and in 2007 Hellenic Radio and Television (ERT) announced Tamta’s participation in the national final as a Greek representative in the Eurovision Song Contest of that year with the song “With love”. She placed third and Sarbel went to the competition.
Tatma has released four albums: “Tamta”(2006), “Agapise me” (2007), “Tharros i alitheia” (2010) and a Best Of (2017).
In parallel to her music career, she has featured in acclaimed musicals such as “Rent” and “Cabaret”.
Also she’s been a judge on X Factor both in Georgia and Greece.
This year’s entry “Replay” was written by Greek-Swedish hitmaker Alex P, the man behind notable songs for Eurovision Song Contest including “Always” for Aysel and Arash, “La la love” for Ivi Amadou and “Fuego” for Eleni Foureira.
