James Arthur is back for another chapter in his career with new single “Medicine”.
Produced by Red Triangle and Matt Rad, the autobiographical track is an intense ballad with an singalong chorus. It marks James’ first release since he signed a new UK record deal with Columbia.
A fourth album is still in progress but we already know his sound will evolve into emo-pop-rock. Vibes that remind us of Post Malone and Machine Gun Kelly’s recent projects.
The journey to his new album began in January 2020 when the “Naked” hitmaker was on a European tour and suddenly old demons reappeared. “On stage in Madrid I had this brutal panic attack. I have suffered from anxiety over the years, of course, but I’ve never had that before, not on stage, not that it bothered me that much – to the extent that it was that I had to get off because if I hadn’t, I would have died. The next day I got really bad flu symptoms and had to be taken to the hospital. They found I had a gallbladder infection and had to remove it immediately” said the British singer-songwriter about the most difficult time in his life.
“Medicine” follows the single “Lasting lover” with Sigala.
