Yazz is a British dance pop singer who began her musical career recording a number of club hits with the group The Biz but is most famous for UK number one hit “The only way is up” that was released in 1988.
This was followed by “Stand up for your love rights” and later “Fine time”, both of which taken from her debut album “Wanted”.
In 1993, Yazz returned with the single “How long” (a duet with reggae group Aswad) and a new album “One on one” but the record failed to chart.
A third album called “The natural life” was released in 1997.
Following a break from the music industry, the musician reestablished herself as a Christian singer in 2008 with the album “Running back to you”. It won the NCM Contemporary Christian Music Award of that year.
Yazz’s last album is “This is love” (2011), a beatiful record with influences from reggae to latinjazz and soul ballads.
Today, Yazz worships at a Baptist church on the Costa del Sol and heads up her ministry, Fame2Freedom, travelling around Europe singing and talking about her faith.
