XOV is a relative unknown in the States, with his iTunes presence consisting of a feature on a Lush & Simon track and an impressive inclusion on “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Pt. 1 soundtrack”, a dark pop single standing tall against a formidable crew featuring Tinashe, Grace Jones, and the woman who discovered him and brought it all together, Lorde.

Now Damian Ardestani — as he’s known as when he’s not the next big thing in music — is finally back with brand new single called “DTTM (Don’t talk to me)”.
This new track is a great and pretty infectious R&B piece with a influences of tropical sound, and it’s confirmed as the first taste of the upcoming international edition of his album due out in October via EVERLY and Sony Music.

Lyrics:

I admit it, I’m a freak of nature
We don’t fit in in with your kings and queens
Now tell me, who made you the teacher?
Oh darling, that’s an old dream

It’s so stupid, what you think you’re made of?
It’s so silly how you look at yourself
It’s so shady, those you’ve chosen to love
Forget you, yeah, all of y’all
All of y’all

Don’t talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me, na-na-na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me, na-na-na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me

I’m proud of being an outsider
We want no part of your shallow dream
Oh honey, we are, we are survivors
Our kind don’t follow the stream

It’s so stupid, what you think you made of
It’s so silly, how you look at yourself
It’s so shady, those you’ve chosen to love
Forget you, yeah, all of y’all
All of y’all

Don’t talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me, na-na-na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me, na-na-na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me

It’s so stupid, what you think you made of
It’s so silly, how you look at yourself
It’s so shady, those you’ve chosen to love
Forget you, yeah, all of y’all
All of y’all

Don’t talk to me
Don’t talk to me, talk to me, talk to me, na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me, na-na-na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me, na-na-na-na
Don’t talk to me, talk to me
